Myers Court, QUAD‘s original community, was built in 1980 as a bold new model for barrier-free living. As the nation’s first independent living center not affiliated with a hospital or rehabilitation center, Myers Court received national attention for its pioneering design which predated the accessibility standards set by the Americans with Disabilities Act by nearly a decade. Myers Court is located in the vibrant Williams Neighborhood of North Portland near Emanuel Hospital. Its facilities received a comprehensive remodel in 2002.
